Safety Systems Group is an approved trainer for the Nebraska Concealed Carry Weapon Permit Training Course.
As of May 2018 your NE permit is valid in 31 states, which are:
Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
If you are traveling to another state, you are responsible for knowing and abiding by that state’s laws. A good tool to help get started is www.handgunlaw.us. Keep in mind the above information comes from private sources and are not guaranteed to always be updated. Before traveling, always contact the desired state’s appropriate governing agency (State Patrol, Secretary of State, Dept. of Public Safety etc.) and confirm that state’s conceal carry laws.

Q: How do I complete the training requirements to apply for a NE CCW Permit?

Q: Can I get another state’s non-resident permit?
A: Yes. You can receive a Utah or Florida non-resident permit and we can direct you how to do so. SSG specializes in Nebraska law and does not teach the Utah course. If you would like to take the Utah course, contact us and we’ll recommend an instructor we trust.
Q: How many rounds of ammunition do I need to bring to class?
A: 100 rounds minimum. Factory ammunition is preferred.
Q: What type of holster do I need to have for class?
A: Strong side holsters only (no cross draw or shoulder holsters). Muzzle must point at the ground when holstered. Holster must cover the trigger. Make sure you have a holster that will allow you to safely reholster.
Q: Do I need to draw from concealment for the class?
A: Yes. You must wear an open jacket or shirt that covers your holster. You will be given ample practice for this. However, we recommend multiple practice repetitions before you attend the course.
Q: Can I bring my firearm into the classroom?
A: No. No firearms or ammunition is allowed in the classroom.
Q: How can I stay updated on changes to Nebraska law?
Once you have completed the approved training course, you need to apply to the State Patrol for your NE CCW Permit to the Nebraska State Patrol station nearest you.
To apply, you must have the following documentation:
- Training certificate from an approved NE CCW Training Course
- Completed and notarized application form
- Proof of vision (Nebraska driver’s license)
- Proof of identification (Nebraska driver’s license)
- Proof of citizenship (Birth certificate or US passport)
- Proof of address
- Signature of applicant
- $100 application fee
Names on ALL CCW application documents must match. For example, if someone has a different name on their birth certificate or passport than on their driver’s license, they will need to provide certified documentation for proof of name change such as a marriage certificate, divorce decree or a court order.
